Dell Inspiron with a motherboard I'd like to throw in a lcd screen, but I know where to start?

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 and as I that the main issue of the motherboard is dead. I would use the existing screen as a monitor. I know you can do but I do not understand what way? The source of energy that I have everything ready to work / no? Most quick fixes I've seen are out of my budget. Any help would be much appreciated!
