Core Duo Pentium 1.86 = 1.86 4 ... There is no direct correlation of speed. You can not compare that way. A Core Duo processor is like two Pentium 4 chips built into one. A 2.0Ghz Core Duo is the same speed as a 2.0Ghz Pentuim 4, but it can run two programs simultaneously. Program 1 can operate at 2.0Ghz and Programme 2 can also operate at 2.0Ghz. In the Pentium 4, Program 1 and 2 of the program is to divide the 2.0Ghz between them. Multitasking is faster on the Core Duo, though some programs could not be.
